Doña Carmen is an artisan and community leader in La Casona, head of her household, and a key figure in community activities. As the founder of the Camino Ngöbe brand, she collaborates with women artisans, creating unique products from palm fibers. Carmen teaches traditional techniques to her family and local children. Her commitment to preserving Ngäbe traditions earned her fifth place in the 2021 Traditional Crafts Contest for her set of five traditional women's hats. Carmen emphasizes the importance of nature in their craft, highlighting the connection between their art and the environment.
