Dear Envision community,
We have reached the moment when honesty asks us to acknowledge what love and determination alone cannot make possible. With heavy hearts, we share that Envision’s future is unknown.
We are deeply proud of what our community created in 2026 and profoundly grateful that we had the opportunity to come together again to experience what many described as one of our most meaningful gatherings. Facing one impossibility after another our team invoked a collective miracle to bring 2026 to life. At the same time, the cost was unsustainable.
For sixteen years, Envision has been an invitation to gather, create, connect and inspire one another to become the best versions of ourselves in harmony with nature. What began as a small dream of building community and culture through music, art, sustainability and education became something far greater than any of us could have imagined.
Since 2011, Envision has welcomed people from all around the world to Costa Rica, many for the first time. Thousands of musicians, artists, performers, educators, and facilitators shared their gifts across our stages and spaces. Some grew alongside Envision, returning throughout the years as their own journeys evolved. Others discovered new passions, friendships, homes, businesses, and ways of living through this community.
Envision’s legacy also lives in the land that held us. What began as a cattle pasture is now regenerated land, abundant with cacao, ylang-ylang, almond and fruit trees, alongside many other species planted and tended with care over the years. This year, we achieved a more sustainable approach to our water usage, building new water systems that both met our needs and shielded our local community’s supply from our use.
We are forever grateful for the tangible impact we have been a part of creating. This impact has been fuel for our sacred fire, our energy to continue our Envision experiment through so many years.
To every member of our team, every artist, facilitator, designer, builder, volunteer, vendor, local resident, partner, public agency, and Envisionary: thank you for trusting us, for growing alongside us, and for allowing us to learn and evolve year after year. Thank you for the late nights, long days, tropical heat and rain, and every act of care that helped turn an unlikely dream into sixteen years of memories, relationships, and transformation.
Envision has always belonged to a community larger than our leadership. Envision lives in each of the thousands of people who helped build it, danced beneath the trees, shared their gifts, challenged us to do better, and carried pieces of our experience back into their own lives.
Whatever comes next, none of this disappears. What we created together has roots, and those roots will continue to grow in ways we may never fully see. While we do not see a path to a 2027 festival, we remain open to how Envision’s mission may evolve through new collaborations, projects, and forms of stewardship.
For now, we are giving ourselves the space to reflect, explore what may be possible, and allow Envision’s next form, whatever it may become, to emerge with intention and care.
With immeasurable gratitude,
Envision Festival Family
While there are currently no future festival editions planned, we do not believe this must be the end of what Envision can become.
Envision may evolve beyond its traditional festival format through new investment, strategic partnerships, collaborative projects, new models of ownership or stewardship, smaller gatherings, educational and cultural initiatives, or possibilities we have not yet imagined. We are open to exploring these paths with people who have the experience, resources, long-term vision, and genuine alignment required to carry its mission forward responsibly.
We are seeking thoughtful conversations with those who recognize what has been built and can envision how its mission, community, and legacy might evolve through a structure that is both values-aligned and genuinely sustainable.
