Envision 2019 began with a opening ceremony to welcome the new members to the Envision tribe and community. Praise and thanks filled the air as attendees begin to find their way to their home for the weekend, in our jungle paradise.
Beginning at the The Village Stage, people from all across the world took their seats as Drew LePlante and Ceremaya shared their gratitude for the amazing crew that built these enticing grounds. The Village Stage couldn’t be more alive (literally) at this time. Along with the thriving plant system that powers The Village Stage, the energy was synced with the crowd, as prasies of gratitude were sung. The Village Stage is a main workshop centerpoint at Envision Festival and is hosting world-renowned entrepreneurs and leaders in selected crafts. In front of the stage is a succulent and plant filled sanctuary that powers the lights and production of the stage. The crowd retaining the knowledge from the Village Stage speakers generates energy for the plants to consume and therefore power the lights to shine on the powerful Envisionaries.
Zendo Harm Reduction Training began shortly after the opening ceremony commenced. Zendo leaders took the stage to begin to share the knowledge of psychedelic harm relief and ended with a helpful question and answer for all attendees and staff benefit.
Next, Vera Franco took the stage for a workshop titled “Inner Resources for a Regenerative Life.” This workshop covered four basic emotive tools that can lead people to understanding their personal lives better, as well as relationships. Franco dove into how acknowledging the different aspects of fear, anger, happiness and sadness can lead to acceptance and a deeper understanding of the roots of these issues or graces. Workshop attendees were invited to participate in a mobile exercise to help root themselves deeper into their personal inner-workings as well as connecting with others surrounding. These different partnership exercises and hands-on teachings were embraced by workshop participants.
As the day continued, the general admission Envision attendees finally were able to get eyes on Rachel Brathen AKA Yoga Girl, as she held her first practice “Holding Space” with a full Yoga Temple. Meanwhile, Mixwell opened Lapa Stage as the daytime house and electronic vibes filled the air. At the Templo De La Paz numerous workshops were taking place including “Dance of Tao” with Orpheus B, “Meditation: Battling Your Mind Ninjas” with Arielle Shipe and “Cocrea: Mindful Partner Dance” with Wren LaFeet.
Dj Drez set the vibe for the night as the Sol Stage was illuminated. Covering numerous top hits with his reggae electronic twist, the wild jungle dance moves began to come out. The whole crowd was singing along to various Marley songs as well as Elton Johns, “Benny and the Jets” mixed into deep electronic wubs.
The Human Experience was invited to play a second set follow DJ Drez and immediately the crowd was tranced with the female vocals ringing throughout the jungle. Following was Deya Dova who traveled from Australia to grace us with her goddess presence and amazing vocal chords.
Yaco Baum set the raw, organic vibe with his powerful speech and Immersive Sound Healing. Before he began his one-man drum session he touched on creativity and finding personal catalysts to make you feel alive. He informed the crowd that asking the question, “What makes you feel alive?” has really helped to develop his personal enjoyment in life. Intentions were set and creativity was advocated.
As dusk fell, the most epic speaker series began following the Immersive Sound Healing. David Casey began the whirlwind of knowledge with “Decentralization of Global Change.” His workshop focused on how power, energy and electricity need to have focused and local inputs and outposts for balance. Casey also talked about the power involved in the new technology trends such as cryptocurrency and 3D printing. Following was Stephen Brooks, Envision Co-Founder, who dove into his vast knowledge of permaculture. The education, expertise and proficiency was abundant throughout the rest of the workshops, as pioneers such as Celine Cousteau, Hadas Kleinman and Starhawk graced us with vast conscious wisdom.
As the depths of the jungle fell to darkness the heart of Envision Festival was lit up as we escalated through the night with An-ten-nae, Drrtywulz, Grouch, and The Human Revolution.
What are you looking forward to for the rest of the weekend?!
