As our 2019 Envisionaries rose for the fourth day in our jungle and beach paradise, most pushed through the unknown intensities of the sun for a fulfilling day of knowledge and epic music. For the attendees dedicated to hitting workshops all weekend, familiar faces began to appear on the stages. Once again we were graced with Yaco Baum’s sound healing, and Starhawk amazing presence on the Village Stage.
Our Eco Team Flashmob touched on food vendors, waste collection and plastic shredding to urge a sense of consistency and necessity into attendee’s minds. Stephen Brooks and Sarah Wu shared a time slot for the closing programs of the night on the Village and Root Down Stage. Stephen shared tropical fruit with the crowd attendees as he relished them in knowledge in his workshop, “Ethnobotanical Journey: An Exploration of Tropical Fruit.” Sarah Wu shared a personal message with the crowd for her last workshop, “Permaculture for the Herbalist’s Path.”
Workshops ended early for the day so that attendees could gather together for one last magical sunset on the beach, or for Griz’s special “Chasing the Golden Hour” set. Followed again by the courageous, Xiuhtezcatl who has powerful verses to say for all of those listening.
Amber Sears was back at the Yoga Temple for two practices titled, “Wild Heart Activation,” where she asked practicers to look deep down into their intentions and draw conclusions for growth. Marcos Jasson led, “Deep Rigorous Breath,” and as a common theme at the temple for the weekend shared the important practice of deep breathing for a more comfortable practice. At the Templo De La Paz, Darren Austin and Jesse Buck got wild with the crowd for “Big Love Shaking Medicine Ecstatic Dance.”
As always the majestic tree planting ceremony took place at 4 p.m. with over 150 participants reforesting our scared Envision grounds and Costa Rica beaches. This wonderful annual ceremony helps Envisionaries make an impact, get their hands dirty and make a lasting impression with the power of rebirth.
The Luna Stage was absolutely stacked for Sunday night. The epic combination of Chamberlain > Pushloop > Hedflux > Detox Unit > Clozee > Nicola Cruz, made it very difficult to explore other stages. These top notch artists dove into the depths of incredible bass music and curated the very best jungle party there is. Meanwhile at the Lapa Stage, home to many house lovers, Invisible People, John Acquaviva, and Viken Arman set the tone for the night and kept that pulsing beat that Lapa lovers crave.
As the sun came up, the most special moment for many Envisionaries came. Tycho sunrise set was more of a ritual and praise then a musical set. Envision attendees hearts were full as they reflected back on the amazing weekend full of music, education and yoga. At the end of Tycho’s set an MC came on stage to bring everyone into a giant group hug, as the sun was shining through the palm trees, to practice gratitude and remembrance of the most epic Envision yet.
