This year at Envision we’re packing more of the interactive fun and hand-picked, exotic music you’ve come to know and love about the festival, but 2017 will also be a year with a lot of new areas and offerings to enjoy. That’s why whether you’re coming back for the seventh time or you’re considering coming to your first festival you ought to know how we’re dedicating resources and time to make this Envision the best experience it can possibly be. To that end, we’ve put together this collection of the fresh additions at the festival so that you can peruse the new as you prepare to Pura Vida!
A brand new camping experience for those looking to focus on a weekend of wellness, the Shanti Town Yoga Camp is tucked a way in a quiet section of the campgrounds. In addition to our two permanently built yoga temples we’ll be improving the yoga tea lounge to enhance the therapeutic offerings in this area of the festival. In the past the Temple has always been a hub for spirituality at Envision, and this year it will also include a Sun Lodge dedicated for Men’s circles and a Moon Lodge committed to women’s only gatherings. In addition to safety and kinship, these spaces offer guests at the festival an enriching moment with their common brothers or sisters in the community. For the Beach Sunset Ceremony, last year we had to close the beach early due to high tides and some risky swimming conditions but this year the tides have turned and the beaches are slated to be open again! Come join us daily on the beach and experience a moment of profound unity as we gather together to celebrate and honor the transition from day into night.
We are excited to announce we have made a downpayment on our an all new Funktion-One Evo7 sound system for the Luna stage to tantalize the tastebuds of your ears. This is, in our opinion, the absolute best sound system in the world. Our very own Lapa Stage, the only stage dedicated completely to the bouncy rhythms of sultry deep house music, will be hosting a massive lineup to demonstrate Envision’s newfound commitment to curating a world class house experience. More of the best music on more of the best technology in the best venue on the planet. It’s not a dream – it’s living the dream.
We’re kicking our End Single Use program up a notch with a better, more conveniently located Dish Center. Here guests can get dish rentals and dish washing options – a necessity since paper plates or cups are not allowed onsite. Along with keeping the load light on the way to the festival, guests can take a few minutes to get to know others who come to the event around the proverbial watering hole. The best part is the minimal $2 fee that is paid for entrance into the Dish Center program goes to support our green efforts onsite so that in addition to being a sustainable event the land we enjoy together at Envision can thrive more with each passing year.
Before Envision this year we’re inviting travelers to take part in an exclusive Embrace Retreat. Taking place at the Selva Armonia Envision Community where the producers of the Envision Festival live year round, off-grid, growing their own food and herbal medicine in naturally built structures. For a behind the scenes look at the real life examples of genuine harmony with the environment and indigenous cultures take a dive into the depths of our ethos and get equipped to take on life back home after the festival. Walking the walk isn’t just a dream anymore and we can prove it!
We don’t have EZ ups, carports or wedding tents and there are certainly no local steel mills, Home Depots or Walmarts here to help us create the stages we dance on and around in the jungle – and we wouldn’t have it any other way! We don’t want to give away too much but suffice it to say this year we have stages designs underway by some of the most celebrated and sustainable craftsmen in the festival industry. Our Sol Stage will be built by Zebbler Studios & Alchemy Arts, a phenomenal crew known for their work on Shpongle’s Shpongletron among other projects. The Luna Stage will be erected by The Reliquarium & Magnetic Melt, to breath visual life into bassy vibrations. The Lapa Stage, the aforementioned dedicated space for House music will be designed by Tigre Bailando :: Arte Vida, a spirited sculptor who uses local branches to build behemoth installations (as seen on the 2015 Mama Jaguar Luna Stage). We’ll also have The Entrance Portal by the artist of artists Carey Thompson, which will greet guests as they arrive at the festival.
